The Risks of Peeing
The most common cause of autonomic dysreflexia is having to pee. Joe happens to ride with a catheter in when he's on the hand cycle, so his urine just dribbles out behind him as he goes. He finds he can pedal hardest just before his bladder releases. These days wheelchair athletes can't start a race if their blood pressure is too high.
