It's also really important that we have disk correlates that work because disk diffusion is a great susceptibility testing method. So MIC values are estimates and you can run the same isolate and you'll get up to and sometimes more than a one dilution difference in the MIC value. But there are many definitions of intermediate or many things that could be used in that definition. For I think this particular instance with Pip Tazo and Pseudomonas, it's mostly to allow some wiggle room so that the test can actually function.
