The Sovereign Individual - A Book of Dads
Gold bug is a term used to refer to people who believe in gold as an investment. Gold bugs are critical of what's known as fiat currency, the system whereby governments essentially control the value of money. Where once gold bugs would advocate a return to the gold standard, now many are looking to crypto currencies. The sovereign individual has become a sort of guide book, a prophetic text that saw how technology could lead humanity towards a libertarian, promised land freed from the bonds of the nation state. They were building on the work of others who thought they were on a different trip.
