The Theory of Repetition
The objects of surplus enjoyment are repetitions of the pre-edipal imaginary objects that conditioned the subjectivation of each of us. They're all figures of what we imagine other people to lack, to want, and so forth. It's after you've run this circuit arriving at surplus enjoyment that surplus enjoyment can work back to the start and designate its lost origin.
