Smoker's Ghostly Red Light
Many Hamutuk drivers have caught sight of Smoker in the distance or crossed his path. Those who are safely at home when a storm descends might hear him pass as the weather rages outside. The story goes that one day, sometime in the late 1800s, Smoker's daughter Jane had a fight with her husband and stepped outside to cool off. It wasn't long before the family heard the sound of a dog team drive up to the house,. She told them she had gone on a trip with her father, old Smoker, who by this time had been dead for several years.
