Norman Honi and the Battle of Leyte

Norman Honi was a point man for his squad, which was in the 511th parachute infantry regiment. They were on a patrol up into the central mountains when they spotted two Japanese either filling their cantines or perhaps washing their clothes on the side of the stream. He was wounded in the crossfire as the Japanese started a flanking attack that ultimately resulted in an entire company being cut off from the rest of the unit.
