Soviet Air Defense - What Happened to a Korean Airlines Passenger Flight?
In the early morning hours, local time, a korean airlines passenger flight was shot down by a soviet air defense fighter just off the coast of sacaline island. The seven four seven crashed into the body of water known as the er strait, which separates sacaline island from the mainland and there were no survivors. So if you're a russian officer out there, and you've just watched a bunch of your friends get purged, you're not going to make that mistake again.
