The Spartans and the Persians

The Persian satrap of Hellespontene Frigia urged the Spartan Navark, the admiral, and exibius to get these Greeks out of his territory. He doesn't want them raiding and pillaging anymore. So, he invites Xenophon across the straits to Byzantium, which is a city that Sparta controls now. And basically, it's an example of a not very competent handling of a situation diplomatically here. After this, all the soldiers came over to Byzantine and an exibius would not give them pay.
