Shakespeare's Festive Comedy by CL Barbers

Shakespeare's festive comedies are a return to the fun and games of old England. The idea of catharsis can most certainly apply to Shakespeare, so I see comedy as festive celebration. Despite being something of a favourite playwright of Elizabeth, we can see him writing plays to order just to please his queen.
