What Is This Lawn Bowling Ball?
Lawn bowling was heavily discouraged and suppressed in the puritan colonies. Bowls were seen as encouraging gambling, even if it was technically legal. The ball had been used for a while but then probably outlived its usability. It is likely to have been played after 16 52 at catherine's home or somewhere near by.
