George Coban, Admiral of the Naval Command, Was a Tremendous Driver.

The battle of bladensburg took place in August 1777. The british army defeated the American troops, who had not fought a war for 30 or 40 years. George coban was determined to give the Americans 'a good drumbing' and so he drove them forward with his naval force. But they were poorly trained - one line after another ran out of men at the end of the battle.
