The Importance of File System Page Cache
The hope is that the operating system will finally buffer all these rights and then write it once to the disk. Why? Because if you just, if the app just directly write, every right will go directly to the database. That's a fantastic idea. Cut the middleman, right? And do exactly what the database need. Anyway, this is another topic for another day. I want to just explore it and just think about it.
