The Rise of Private Equity in Senior Living
Roland Martin: If you're in need of an emergency department, and it's run by a private equity firm that is putting profits ahead of patients, that's a problem. Rural hospitals have really been hit by this practice; they don't put the name on the door over the emergency department. And so much of what private equity has taken over is kind of like this, a stealth takeover, he says. The consumer does not know that this is happening.
