The History of the Jews and of Judaism
The history of the ancient Jews was in no way the history of the Hebrew Bible. The story that the Jews have told themselves about who they are and where they come from is built on a very, very long oral and textual tradition. But the form in which it now exists in Judaism is a very late creation.
