The Failure of an Actor

I grew up in a very white area. There weren't many people of colour around me. I went to the youth theatre, and even though I was still the only black woman for most of my time there, I just felt incredibly happy and welcome there. That was the beginning of me becoming an actor. It was also, I felt valued as a young person. And I think creative spaces for young children should be an essential part of every society,. because often it's where we discover ourselves and where we find a home.
