When most of us look at our own jobs, the stages seem rather more opaque. So why don't we name them and try to optimize them? Why do we instead just plug into an inbox and figure things out informally? Well, the hyperactive high mind is not only just really easy and convenient in the moment and cheap, I should add - because you don't have to build B-spoke systems or hire extra managers. That's where all the productivity growth happened over the last 100 years in the industrial sector. If you're a manager, it's not your job to tell people how to organize their work. That's up to the individuals and knowledge work.
