In 18 73, a woman sued because she was denied admission to the illinois bar. The court said that those privileges and immunities did not include the right to practice a chosen profession. And then we have this case, just a couple of years later from the supreme court, which is about the rights of women to vote. So you see the supreme court advancing an extremely patriarchal, extremely sort of men supremacy vibes based on the idea that a woman is a citizen, but that means something different than a man being a citizen.
