The S&P 500 in real terms goes up 7% every year for as long as the S&P has been a thing. That's interesting. I feel like that bucks conventional wisdom. As you get older, the stock market becomes less safe because your investment horizon gets shorter and so you should be cutting back on stock. When you're young, you have a lot of wage payments still left in your future. These are relatively safe compared to the stock market.
