The Problem With Tolerance
The notion of love thy neighbor is something very radical. It means love this radical otherness, not just love somebody who is like me. Today, the way we deal with it is tolerance. Martin Luther King didn't find for tolerance. He fought for end of exploitation, end of injustice,. That was the problem for him. What's underlying this is something that should be called culturalization of politics in our postmodern era.
