Norse colony in greenland also served as the stepping stone towards the final and most mysterious Viking outpost that existed in a land called vinland which was most likely part of north america. centuries later in 1712 the king of denmark sent out christian missionaries to try to make contact with this colony but the missionaries found no Norsemen left there and instead they missionized to the indigenous inuit people. There's been much debate and back and forth over the years with competing theories about exactly where these three lands really were.
