The Confusion of Graphic Design
The first semester of grad school was really hard for me. I would either get halfway done and decide that it was just a stupid idea, or I would never even start making it in the first place. So when I applied to these MFA programs, not realizing that they weren't straightforward graphic design, I had no portfolio other than what I had made during that summer program. And so I bought a 30 day trial of Photoshop and illustrators as part of my portfolio. That's actually an interesting distinction now. The morning was analog and the afternoon was digital.
