The Pandemic of COVID Vaccines in the Global South

Anti-retroviral therapy was this magical invention created in 1996 in the United States. It turned what was almost certainly a dead sentence into a chronic condition like diabetes. But it couldn't reach anyone else anywhere in the world, especially where it was needed most. In South Africa, for instance, the very first time that people in the country had reasonable access to these medicines was 2004 - eight years after they were invented.
