Is Happiness a Prefered Indifferent?
The Stoics were criticized for exactly this, even right from the beginning, right in ancient times. If you can describe happiness as being in a state of accord with nature, then why can't we call it good? The dispreferred in difference include all the opposites, death, disease, pain, ugliness and so on. So preferred in difference are those that foster a person's natural condition; selecting them is approved by our rational faculty. But they're not to be called good because well first of all because only virtue is good,. Preferred in difference can't be called goodbecause they can be put to good to bad use.
