What Are Rational Agents?

Great apes are rational for two reasons. One is they understand the causal relations in the world and intentional relations. They're rational in the sense of understanding causes, including intentions as a special case. In their decision making, we have studies showing that they are able to check when uncertain about something. And so those two senses are the ones that seem to me to make them rational.
