How I Got Into Programming R and Got Over to Python

R is an open-source programming language. It's been used by companies like Google, Facebook and Microsoft for years. In 2008 or 2009, a friend of JJ Allaire got him interested in R when he was working on his first startup. He wanted to build an IDE that would let users write code with the help of their web browser. This week we're going to talk about how this could be applied to other languages such as Python.
