Wall Street likes advertising supported businesses better than subscriptions and supportive businesses. Netflix excluded from this? I think there's some odd parts in subscription. You don't need to make the money off of an individual piece of content. Therefore, you can subsidize lots of expensive content because of the subscription. And many, many series lose money,. whereas in an advertising or a pay per view model, people have to pay.
Mitch Lowe has been a significant disruptor of Hollywood's distribution models over the past two decades, promoting all-you-can-eat subscription models on personal devices and at the box office. Netflix famously redefined consumer video distribution while Movie Pass infamously imploded in 2019.
