There was a recent study that had looked at the Herpes virus in especially European human skeletons from the common areas. And they attributed this shift to the introduction of an additional route of transmission. So yeah, we here we are 300 in the common era and people in Europe are just learning about romantic kissing. It seems to have been a very common practice, you might say, and very, very widely used.
