There's sort of a therapeutic aspect to memory and reminding ourselves of things, we're able to process and go through. The imagination in a more nebulous way can reach out and anticipate the future. And then as well in the past, memory can take me back there and yet it can't actually physically take my body there. So there's these three faculties of the human intellect, all of them in their relationship to time and what they do.
