Are You Responsible for Your Physiology?
I didn't choose the environment in which I grew up, especially early on in my life. My brain today is what it is because of those things. There's no genetic determinism and mapping that made behaviour a direct consequence of that. We deal in probability. So yes, you didn't choose anything of that. That is just inherently who you are. But because there's no direct mapping of that to behaviour, you are thus responsible for your actions. The only difference between our position is that instead of using the word responsible because it has moral connotations here, we agreed that those decisions are yours. You are the one making the decision. And it is in agreement with the science ultimately
