When most people buy, they buy because it alined with one of their overriding needs. And there's some research now that kind of shows the impact of personal value over business value. The sales person knowing the industry was for some of these buyers more important than knowing about their business. Very few salespeople actually even know how the buyer is being gold. Amd, i'm not saying you can't be a salesperson without selling your own product or service but if you want to move faster and get better at what you're doing then start thinking in those terms.
