The Different Functions of the Parasympathetic Nervous System

Most parasympathetic functions are under the control of cranial nerves that come from the brainstem. These include increasing intestinal activity, contracting your bladder which helps you pee and arousal of an erection of the penis and clitoris. For the sympathetic nervous system the ganglia are all near the spinal cord. I would think but I'm not sure that if you have problems in your spine that it could spill over into some of these functions.
