Silicon Valley bank owned something like $80 billion of mortgage backed securities. Jamie Dimon: "You cannot manage risk in a market that moves five or six hundred basis points in a year" He says short sellers are going to look at banks that have big securities portfolios and target the outliers, which is what happened with JP Morgan. The industry still had a trillion one deficit at the end of last year; I think first quarter is going to be a little worse.
