After 1945, after all of the carnage of World War II, there was a baby boom. In places that are very secular today, like New Zealand and Canada, people were going back to church. One prominent American sociologist said the village atheist is withering away. This religious boom lasted from 1945 until 1963. And in 1963, something happens that results in the churches losing people,. That results in families getting smaller, thatresults in the kind of decline that we see today.
