The Challenges of District Judges in the Family Court
District judges come from many a professional background. Despite the training, despite the information provided through the judicial college, it's still a new area and becoming having to get used to not only a new process but also raw emotion that manifest self so often in family court. It may explain why there are recruitment difficulties at particularly district bench level. Take our courts in sussex, we are fearfully short of district judges. In brighton, judges have become burnt out and left before retirement age. And there is a shortage. But all credit to those that remain and shoulder the burden.
