Apple is working on a system that would allow you to send channel capacity between pairs of peers. If this turns out to be viable, it might really be a game changer from what I could get from the proposal. It's very possible they they remove it like quietly on a following release kind of thing. But yeah, it would be quick. They don't. That would sort of quietly really give a hint. There is something going on in Bitcoin and cryptography right now,. Like every week comes up with something completely absurd and new and totally doable.
