For the stoics, virtue means excellence. A virtuous person in stoicism would be a person who exemplifies all those virtues. In zeno's case, we know that he was looking at the character of socrates as presented in the memorabelia and wanted to follow that exemplar. And in the case of heracles, he also saw two visions. One named virtue, one named vice. Each of them presented a different path to heracles. The point of all this is that in our lives, many of us come to a place where we do face a fork in the road.
