Parents are emotionally disregulated by each other's states of being. Enmeshment is when the parent becomes distressed when the child is distressed. By adult life, they'll be prone to extreme emotions that vary wildly. Their nervous systems will not be settled. They'll often have substance dependency and personality disorders. Sponsor with an admirable compassion. We can listen. We can talk when it's our time to talk and wisely. And it's easier to put aside unskilful ideas and harmful emotions that cause suffering.
