Semagutide: A Weight Loss Medication

Semagutide is a glucagon like peptide 1 or a GLP 1 receptor agonist. It's labeled for use as an adjunct to diet and exercise. Serious adverse effects are rare, but occur at a higher rate than with placebo. About 6.8% of patients will discontinue treatment due to adverse effects.
