What Is Cognitive Dissonance?

When the agent with agency is in the right arena, then things are cognitively consonant. So when my body could no longer play football, and i was alerted to that fact by medical professionals, i was thrown into chaos. And it was kind of silly when i look back at it now, but it made perfect sense because my arena had been taken from me. That's where story grit really lives, is finding the variant patterns and then using those as enabling constraints for the writer.
