How to Fireproof Your House With Chitazan

A research team in Melbourne Australia has been working on that and they developed a material that uses the mycelium of edible mushrooms. Mycelium are this root like structure that mushrooms use to take up nutrients and they are also rich in chitin. So it is fungi unlike plants and most animals have this unique material in their cell structure called chitin which makes them resistant to burning. Even better the only byproducts they measured were water and carbon dioxide.
