1% of a Company? Is That a Good Thing?

When I joined Crunchbase, my equity was worth 0.25% of the company pre-series B. And that of course got diluted as time went on. If you're an investor, it may be 1% of that company and 0.001% if your portfolio at which point it doesn't actually matter. No one aspires to be a party round or unless they have so little capital on their dispunging offer friends to get allocation deals. You no longer are just the person that they want for a party around.
