Lou's Ponzi Scheme
In addition to selling stock and Airship, Lou also starts encouraging his former neighbors to invest in his other company, Transcontinental. He claims that Transcon owns as many as 50 jets, which he says he leases to various companies and big shots who want to fly private. On average, his old friends put in about $5,000 each. And that might not seem like a lot, but for some of them, it's their entire life savings.
