The Role of Monogamy in Human Mating

Cultures that practice monogamy norms flourished because those men and families were kind of freed up for economic output rather than fighting for mates. And it's not clear to me really that women in polygynous societies are happier to share a high value mate, but they don't really get on so well with each other. I think there's always hope, I'm quite optimistic, and that you can always change your lot in life. But I feel like the online dating is kind of the ubiquitous mating arena now that really exacerbates this attraction inequality problem.
