Sally Kohn: The idea that there's too much information to know is a kind of old, old trope. This problem became all the more marked with the explosion of information that became available over the course of the 20th century and then especially with the internet from the mid 90s on. What we have today that we didn't have in Bernays time is obviously computers and the internet and an over abundance, a super abundance of information. And even if all of the online advertising doesn't work as promised, it does transform people. It changes the cultural worlds in which they operate and certainly changes the informational worlds in whichthey operate.
