"It just feels like from the get-go, where's Craven is just trying to make us feel as uncomfortable and make us feel sick," he says. "I can remember thinking it's better than some of the horror remakes that were coming out at that time ... But also does it lose its power for that reason? You know, because it's almost a bit too polished and it loses that weirdness."
