The First Moment We Riding a Bike

The longer I worked on the project, the more I saw the echoes of exactly 100 years ago. There are a couple of reasons why I narrate in the first person and why I do bring my own story into it. One is I don't know any other way of writing. Because I'm not a historian, you know. So to kind of step out of it and present on the page something that looks like objective fact would be fraudulent on my behalf. It felt important to set myself in the context of 2020 because a bit like riding a bike, we can all remember the first moment we rode a bike independently.
