Lorna Woods is Professor of Internet Law at the University of Essex. She was involved in writing a blog about how to regulate social media without destroying its good stuff. Her idea formed the central idea for the online harms white paper, published by DCMS last year. Lorna says it will be difficult to balance competing interests when dealing with powerful companies and lobbying abilities.
