Writing a Screenplay Is a Thematic Area

A lot of the projects that we kick around we nearly always start very either high concept or very plot driven without a ton of theme early on look I think there is kind of broadly speaking like a thematic area which isn't always where writers start and so to be honest it's not always where I start. A clearer theme comes out to me only after I've written at least one draft of the screenplay you know the thing about the theme that makes things difficult is that quite often for writers it takes quite a long time for the themes to become clear.
