The Inquiry Into the Pandemic
The government at that time had other things on its mind. There was a sort of mass restructuring of government happening as well and some real big battles over personnel. I think though if we look at what the inquiry is going to look at in the long term, it's going to be a multi-year inquiry. Those early months obviously are really important but I think more important is the state that Britain and Britain's capacity to cope with the pandemic was in going into it. What plans did we have in advance? That is probably more important than were they distracted by a no-deal Brexit even though the answer is they obviously were.
