What's Congress's Interest in Pegasus Spyware?
Congress could ban the FBI from using this type of spyware, but it would have to go through an Article III court. They are generally loath to do something like that since they don't want to hamstring federal investigators. Director Ray will be yelled at by people all across the political spectrum and he's not going to be charged with perjury. He'll say what he's going to say. Probably what he said in quotes to the New York Times here. But yeah, I mean, if you want a WWE style congressional hearing, you might get one in the next Congress.
